A new chemical damp-proof course installed by injecting damp-proof cream into a line of holes along the base of the wall. The cream spreads through the brick and cures into a water-repellent barrier that stops rising damp moving up the wall.
Once the cream is in, the old salt-damaged plaster is hacked off and a damp-proof backing membrane is fixed to the wall, then re-plastered up to roughly a metre high and left ready for decoration once it has dried out.
We also inject from the outside where the job calls for it, treating the wall from the external face so solid walls and awkward access are covered without tearing the inside of the room apart.
